
Carlos Alfaro Pérez
Carlos Alfaro Pérez holds a MSc in Environmental Pollution, Toxicology and Health from the University of Valencia (Spain). He graduated with a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). He has recently worked with the JAE Intro scholarship at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA). He was a beneficiary of the Collaboration Grant and Professional Training from the Ministry of Education, as well as the Grant from the Department of Agriculture, Environment, Climate Change and Rural Development to carry out external internships. His current work focuses on collecting samples to analyse genetic traces of SARS-CoV-2 in indoor and outdoor aerosols in Valencia. In 2023 he received the Award for Best Communications presented by people attending the annual meeting of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology for the first time for his work entitled “Prenatal exposure to metals and working memory in children and adolescents of the INMA Project”. In 2024 he received the Award for Best Communications presented by young research personnel for his work entitled “Environmental surveillance of respiratory viruses in a hospital.”
