Dr Juana Mar\u00eda Delgado-Saborit is the head of the Environmental Health Research Laboratory. She is based at the University Jaume I in Spain, where she joined the Perinatal Epidemiology, Environmental Health and Clinical Research as a Distinguished Researcher in 2020 thanks to the Generalitat Valenciana incoming talent programme GenT. She is also a member of the Joint Research Unit in Epidemiology, Environment and Health (UJI-FISABIO-UV).<\/p>\n
Her current research focuses on understanding the interrelationship between environmental factors with health and well-being in order to inform environmental health policies that promote healthy, resilient and sustainable societies.<\/p>\n

She is an expert in studies evaluating exposure to atmospheric pollutants, in chemical characterization for the identification of sources of pollution and in the use of biomarkers to evaluate environmental exposures and the effects of oxidative stress and inflammation on health. Her research applies epidemiology, geostatistics, biomarkers, modelling, sensors and artificial intelligence to evaluate the effects of environmental factors, including air pollution, on cognitive health in children.<\/p>\n

She has collaborated with the World Health Organization and the Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants (UK).<\/p>\n
